Project Description

This project is a study on deceptive UI, specifically some of the design patterns that encourage infinite scrolling.

I wanted to first focus specifically on researching many examples of how these designs are implemented and examining their purposes.

From the research, I would then create two prototypes:

1. A prototype that employs design patterns that discourage infinite scrolling
2. A prototype that employs patterns that further encourage infinite scrolling.

Research

To begin this project, I did a bit of research for different scenarios where infinite scrolling was implemented. I looked into the different purposes they were used for, and the differences in how they were implemented into the application.

The list goes on, but some of the main applications that I found that employ infinite scrolling consist of e-commerce and social media applications.
